“I am just glad that you are ok.” She was getting another beep.

“I am sorry but I have to take this.” She then ended the call.

She sometimes wondered why she kept Tameka as a friend. She was so distant and would neglect her at times. She felt like she should make new friends because it was tiresome that she always wanted to go out and that she was always leaving her for some man. She felt like her best friend should always be there for her and yet she was not. She wanted a meaningful relationship with someone. She couldn’t even find that with her friend. She hoped it would be Matthew but he lied to her. She was distraught and torn apart by his lies. She was glad that he was giving her some space. She needed it. He was becoming overbearing with the calls and the flowers. She needed peace. It finally made sense to her. She loved him. She loved him so much. It was why she put up with him over and over again. She never experienced a love like that before. She needed him back because he filled that void for her. Unhealthy as their relationship was, she missed him. She was also warming up to the idea that he had money. He could buy her whatever she wanted. She could be living in a much nicer place. She could be living better than she currently was. She ran to the bathroom and threw up again. There were still some traces of alcohol in her system. She held onto the toilet and regained her breath. She washed her mouth and brushed her teeth. She looked ill. She just wanted to rest. But she had some cases to fill out. She decided to eat and make a cup of coffee. She sat down with her patient’s charts and continued to fill them out. She made a note of therapies that could work and how long they should be carried out.
